Automobile Cleaning Checklist

Automobiles

Ø  Always start on the top and work your way down.

Ø  Always start on the left and work toward the right.

Ø  Always work in the direction of the grain or in a circular motion.

Ø  Always clean from the front to back.

£  Remove the clutter, putting things were they belong.

£  Gather trash and toss it.

£  Wipe the ceiling of the vehicle.

£  Polish the rearview mirror and wipe down the window visors.

£  Dust the dash and doors (all vinyl and plastic surfaces).

£  Polish clear plastic and get in the crevices of knobs, CD player, cup holders and the gear shift.

£  Clean dust out of the air vents.

£  Wipe down and polish dash and doors.

£  Vacuum seats and floors. Vacuum under seats. Shampoo the carpeting.

£  Shake out, vacuum and shampoo floor mats.

£  Polish leather seats or shampoo cloth seats.

£  Clean the inside of all windows.

£  Clean door jams and seals by removing all dirt. Make needed repairs.

£  Replace air freshener.

£  Replenish oils and fluids in the automobile and tune-up as needed.

£  Rinse the dirt off the outside of the automobile.

£  Hose down the underside of the vehicle and the wheel wells.

£  Rinse under the hood with water taking care not to waterlog the parts.

£  Scrub the roof, front, back, left and right sides of the automobile with soap and rinse each section immediately after the scrubbing is complete.

£  Clean the windshield wipers.

£  Clean and polish the wheels and tires.

£  Dry the vehicle with a clean microfiber cloth.

£  Apply auto wax and buff the wax to a shine.
