Company is coming and the house is dirty!

I clean my house with a checklist I created outlining the fastest way to get my house clean. This fast-cleaning method only works if you do a deep clean at least twice a month. Otherwise this method is not fast at all. You can copy and past this checklist and adapt it to your cleaning methods and your house.

 Complete Home quick-clean

Ø  Always start on the top and work your way down.

Ø  Always start on the left and work toward the right.

Ø  Always work in the direction of the grain or in a circular motion.

£  Place an empty basket in the entry of each room to house misplaced items that belong on that room.

£  Go room to room and gather all laundry. Take it to the laundry room, sort and clean out pockets. Start a load.

£  Go room to room and gather all dirty dishes. Place them in the sink, rinse them and start a cycle.

£  Sort and file mail, magazines and loose papers from each room.

£  Take a large trash bag, room to room, and gather all trash. Take trash to garbage bin outside.

£  Moving from room to room, gather all misplaced items that belong in another room and place them in the basket sitting in the entry of the corresponding room.

£  Once all clutter is cleared, go room to room and empty the items in the baskets to their proper place.

£  Pull all sheets and pillow cases off beds and place them in the laundry room. Launder comforters and pillows as needed. Make beds with clean linens.

£  Switch laundry and dish loads as needed and put away once clean.

£  Clean all hand-wash dishes.

£  Wipe down counters, appliances, showers, tubs, toilets and sinks.

£  Dust all surfaces, electronics and nick-knacks.

£  Vacuum upholstery, rugs and carpeting.

£  Sweep and mop tile and wood floors.

£  Polish wood furniture and flooring.

£  Organize any items that are in sight that need straightening.

{Place fresh flowers in a vase, spray air freshener or light candles and set out a bowl of fresh fruit or baked goods. Make pitchers of tea and lemonade.}
