Homemade Dishwasher Soap

This recipe is probably my favorite homemade cleaning agent. It works awesome and costs pennies per load. The Lemi-shine makes all the difference. I've seen recipes that suggest Kool-Aid be used in it but I don't think that works well. If you don't have Kosher salt just use table salt. Place 2 tablespoons in the main soap dispenser. For heavily soiled dishes add 1 tablespoon to the per-wash soap dispenser.

You need:
1 cup Washing soda
1 cup Borax
1/4 cup Kosher salt
1/4 cup Lemi-shine
20 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Do:
Combine and store in airtight container. If left uncovered the mixture will form hard clumps.
You can add white vinegar in a container on the top rack for a rinse agent. I do not suggest putting the vinegar in you rinse dispenser, I did that and it was stuck in there for months until it finally evaporated out.
