Baking Soda ~ Household Odor Eliminator
I bought a new box of baking soda for my refrigerator today and was reading the back of it. It says to place one all around your home to eliminate odors, so I decided to figure out where I need to put these boxes! There is no need to spend $0.88 every 30 days to replace the old baking soda, just open the top, dump out the used baking soda and refill with what you already have at the house! I buy my baking soda in a huge bag from SAMs Club, much cheaper than the small boxes. Another thrifty tip, instead of buying the boxes and refilling them use an old jar, puncture holes in the lid and refill when needed. I am sure there are many more uses for these nifty boxes but these are the top 12 ways I have found work good in my home. I like at least one in each room not including trash canisters, closets or hampers.
1. The refrigerator of course, I like one on the top shelf and one on the bottom
2. In the bottom of all trash canisters, under the bag
3. Behind each toilet bowl or in a conspicuous corner of the bathroom
4. On the top shelf or bottom corner of closets, if there are a lot of shoes I'd use two
5. In the kitchen pantry or cabinet that contains smelly ingredients
6. The utility closet and storage area under the staircase
7. Stored away luggage and holiday decorations or anything in a tight box
8. Tucked in the bottom of the laundry hamper
9. Next to the cat litter box
10. Under the kitchen and bathroom sinks
11. Under the seat in the car
12. Under each bed and sofa
