Fall Inspired - Homemade Beauty Products
Now that cold air is upon us it's time to prepare your skin for the damage that cold air causes. Here are some moisturizing recipes you can whip up using the items in your pantry. Be sure to work over a towel because the scrubs can get a little messy!
Revitalizing Face Mask
1/4 cup Plain Yogurt
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Honey
Mix all ingrediants together. Spread in a thick layer on your face with a makeup brush. Let sit 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Pat dry with a towel and follow with moisturizer.
Exfoliating and Plumping Lip Scrub
1 teaspoon Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Honey
1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Mix all ingredients together. Using your fingers gently spread on your lips and let set for 3 minutes. Massage mixture into lips and then rinse off with warm water.
Therapeutic Foot and Hand Soak
1/4 cup Epsom Salt
1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Ground Nutmeg
1 Tablespoon of warmed Honey
Warm water to fill your bath container
Fill your bath container with water and then add all the ingredients. Let your hands and feet soak for 10 each. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Follow with the scrub below. You can save your water to rinse the Srub off in or use fresh water.
Deep Moisture Hand and Foot Srub/Mask
1/8 cup finely ground Rolled Oats
1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
1/8 cup Brown Sugar
3 tablespoons Olive Oil
1/2 cup Honey
Mix all ingredients together. Use your fingers to spread on your feet and hands. Wrap your feet and hands in plastic wrap and let sit for 10 minutes. Remove plastic wrap and rinse off with warm water. Pat dry. Follow with your favorite lotion or for best results use petroleum jelly and cover you hands with gloves and your feet with socks overnight.
